This lovely little post-it was posted to my bathroom door frame by a friend of mine and kept me (and him) from forgetting something. Had I not had this psot-it, I would most definitely have forgotten. :D Picture taken on December 7, 2008.
This is not the most artistic picture ever, but the only Spork I own. It's part of a Lufthansa set I snatched once and I always wondered why there was no spoon. Taking a closer look at the fork I knew why. lol Picture taken on December 7, 2008.
A classic world map puzzle, assembled in less than 12 hours (spread over three days) after a puzzle drought of six months. Pictures taken on December 6, 2008.
This is a make up set I bought a few years back. I don't use a lot of make up, that's why there's hardly anything missing or used. lol Picture taken on December 4, 2008.
These are some of my grandpa's wooden masterpieces, the first three pictures showing his most recent achievement, a viola d'amore. He has built more than 40 violins and some violas and a cello in 30 years. Pictures taken on December 3rd, 2008.
Meet Otto von Guericke, the guy who experimented with vacuum and half-bowls and horses way back when... He's one of the favorite sons of my hometown, Georg Philipp Telemann (a composer) being another one. His posture seems quite masculine to me, but I have to admit that the Christmas market booths in the background are kind of taking some of that masculinity away. Picture taken on December 2nd, 2008.
These are the remnants of my stamp collecting phase - a book with all the stamps I ever got until I stopped archiving them. Pictures taken on December 2nd, 2008.
This is Ludwig van Beethoven and Good vs. Evil hanging on the wall in the so called "music room" of my parents' and grandparents' house. They're kinda creepy but pretty fitting for this theme... Picture taken on December 2nd, 2008.
I came across this booth on the Christmas market in my hometown and since bow and arrow are both themes for 366 I jumped at the occasion. I wasn't sure which one to use it for, but decided on using it for #356 for the time being. I might switch if I come across another arrow. But I think it'll be easier to come across a bow somewhere so it'll probably stick. Picture taken on December 2nd, 2008.
It's the beginning of winter... One of the first days of snow in Dresden and with a beautiful sunrise illuminating the city in the valley. Pictures taken on November 25, 2008.
Dresden has been wrapped in pretty dense fog for the last 5 days. Here are a few impressions from this morning and last night. Pictures taken on November 3 and 4, 2008.
Once I'm finished with my thesis this will be one of the first books I'll read. I highly recommend J. M. Coetzee's boooks! Picture taken on October 28, 2008.
This is my mom and dad. I visited them when they were vacationing in a wellness center in Altenberg (40km from Dresden). They went there to relax and do courses in Tai Chi and Qi Gong. :D It was very cold but the weather was very lovely so we went for a little walk around the lake. Picture taken on October 26, 2008.
Two children standing at the lake with their families, feeding the ducks. It's a thing we all did at one point (or more) in our childhood. :) Picture taken on October 26, 2008.
The little forest surrounding the lake at the wellness / rehab clinic, photographed from my parents' room at sunset. Picture taken on October 26, 2008.
It is a mystery to me why someone would cut out or punch out (or whatever) a part of a park plan or in this case the story behind the drinking water system of Altenberg. :D Picture taken on October 26, 2008.
I love Snoopy, especially the little stories with the piano and lots of notes in them. This is an excerpt from my little Snoopy book. Hope you enjoy the little story. :D Pictures taken on October 19, 2008.
This is a set of old light/power switches that I found in the plenary room of the town hall of Merseburg. They are a relics from GDR times, today's light/power switches look different. Picture taken on October 17, 2008.
Now that fall is here, the ladybug beetles try to get the last rays of sunshine, which has lately transformed my balcony into ladybug beetle central (it's facing West). They sure have a lot of spots on their little wings or whatever it is you call the things they fly with. :D And if you call the reflection of my balcony frame, there are even more spots in this picture than the little bug's. :) Picture taken on October 8, 2008.
Meet Jerry, the new cat living with my parents and grandparents. Here, he's relaxing in his favorite and most comfortable, snuggly pose. :) Picture taken on September 24, 2008.
I obviously didn't succeed in completing the challenge, though not for lack of interest but because life (thesis writing, lots of concerts, etc.) got in the way. Let's hope I'll be more successful with 365 in 2009. After all it's one photo less. ;)
Here are the themes of the 366 in 2008. And these are the themes I was able to complete.
365 in 2009
Taken: 166
Remaining: 249
Once again, I wasn't able to finish the challenge - work, music, and life in general got in the way. It's not really for lack of photos - I took quite a lot and quite a few good ones in 2009 - but for lack of time to prepare and post them here that I so unceremoniously dropped out of the challenge.
The themes I was able to complete can be found here and I might post the complete 2009 theme list - if I can find the time...
