#177 - METALLIC (12 of 365)
A detailed picture of a metallic statue in Dresden. The statue itself is not really a beautiful sight, but if it provides for a good picture for the challenge, I'm not one to argue. :D And for all those who'd like to see the statue in its entirety, see below. But don't say I didn't warn you about the lack of beauty. :D
Picture taken on 01/09/2011.
Camera: SONY A300 DSLR.

I like the closeup a lot but I think it's nice to show the whle thing to. In another place it would look much better
I love that close up, but it is nice to see where it came from. The clean lines and simple shapes makes this image...very abstract and eye appealing!
Very nice lines makes for an interesting image.
Yes we are supposed to act all sophisticated and admire the lines and curves and height and form and shape. Its a great image but sometimes art just doesn't make sense. You photographed it well and I like the close up as it makes us wonder what the rest of it is and what it might represent.
Somebody will find beauty there, but it was a good find for the 'metallic' theme.
That close up is intriguing and well shot. Maybe the entire piece needs to be somewhere else.
Maybe it's not beautiful, but it is interesting. Like seeing the whole as well as your well photographed detail shot. It might be prettier in a green grassed area as it would be more contrasted there. The city area already has so many hard edges that it's "beauty" is lost among them.
I definitely love the cropped image! You did a great job with processing!
I din't know what this was until your second shot put it in context. With the contrast between the straight lines and the curved shapes, and the gold ball against the silver background, this is an intriguing abstract.
