In preparation for the general part of the big test I'm taking on Monday I've been crossword puzzles for a while now. And what do you know: it's a 366 theme! Yay! Picture taken on July 14, 2008.
We sometimes have crosswords like that - or strictly speaking I suppose, word puzzles (I honestly never stopped to think of it like that before, there's a puzzle just like your one that I liked to do each week). I think now, crossword has come to encompass both kinds - the ones with the clues outside, and the ones with the clues inside the puzzle. After all, the words go across and down, it's only where the clues go! Huh, a new thought for today :D Now I might have to do the (clues outside) crossword in my TV listings magazine now, and then go and do the (clues inside) crossword in the other magazine!
I obviously didn't succeed in completing the challenge, though not for lack of interest but because life (thesis writing, lots of concerts, etc.) got in the way. Let's hope I'll be more successful with 365 in 2009. After all it's one photo less. ;)
Here are the themes of the 366 in 2008. And these are the themes I was able to complete.
365 in 2009
Taken: 166
Remaining: 249
Once again, I wasn't able to finish the challenge - work, music, and life in general got in the way. It's not really for lack of photos - I took quite a lot and quite a few good ones in 2009 - but for lack of time to prepare and post them here that I so unceremoniously dropped out of the challenge.
The themes I was able to complete can be found here and I might post the complete 2009 theme list - if I can find the time...

Those are great shots, Christin. And an interesting sort of crossword. I've not seen one with the clues placed in the grid like that.
Good luck on your test!
Great shots. I used to do lots of crosswords, in a pre-kids era.
juliem: That's how a crossword looks in Scandinavia as well.
